I actually thought Showtime's production values were great. You gotta admit it was sick when Lennon Jr. announced "IIIIIT'S SHOWTIME!" and beams of light came down and illuminated the just-dark arena

Showtime was a refreshing change from the usual HBO PPV. It's a push in my opinion.

Also, I think Gus Johnson should stick to football. I'll never forget this call, now that I think of it it reminds me of Emmanuel Steward's "OH MY GAWHHH!" lol

I was upset at how little the camera was on corner discussions during the breaks. I think we saw Pacquiao's corner one time for like 10 seconds in the whole fight. This is something HBO always gets right.

I thought it was funny how one of the announcers said "Eddie Roach.. errr, Freddie Roach".

HBO wins: Picture quality (this is obvious for those who buy the HD PPVs for both), graphics and presentation, Lampley owns Gus in almost every way.

Overall I like HBO more because I'm a video snob and I hate Gus Johnson. Other than that I'm pretty much indifferent.

I hate Buffer with a passion. It's almost to the point of mental insanity on my part.

                    showtime has better fights

                    HBO has better production

showtime just needs to buy HBOs production crew

like kessler vs froch what a great fight but the audio was like AM radio with mid 90s video quality and these guys going "uhhh looks like a ... punch landed", it reminded me of the local MMA dvds from indian reservations even though they were in a packed stadium
