These idiots that are called promoters not only destroying the sport of boxing but quite frankly all these fighters careers. The constant babying of fighters and waiting for fights to materialize needs to stop. One reason MMA gained popularity was due to the fact that everyone fights everyone. Boxing on the other hand waits to build fights and it's really biting them in the ass.

What were you waiting for with James Kirkland V Alfredo Angulo, Juan Lopez V Gamboa, and Paul Williams V Kelly Pavlik? You milked it and it backfired. These promoters couldn't even get the biggest fight in the history of the sport made. Sitting on your hands and waiting for things to fall in place is killing the sport and they will probably do the same with Khan V Bradley.

It's time these promoters realize these investments they have are not truly investments and you have to take advantage of all the big fights as soon as they happen. It's too risky, anyone can be beat at any time and this era of the sport seems to lack the very great superstars, fighters have evened out.

Stop milking it and make the fight when they are there to be made. You just lost millions.

Exactly and this is the mindset that Boxing needs to get out of. Had Lopez lost to Gamboa he would have a loss to a great fighter but Bob Arum babied him, killed the fight with Gamboa, and now has a loss to an unknown to Salido. This is a big problem and the mindset of the sport won't change until the top changes it.

Yeah, had Lopez went straight to Gamboa and lost he would be getting backlash but that is because the way the promoters have ran this sport. It has to stop, it really has to. Make the big fights asap and not only will we get bigger fights but we will also get more stars in the sport because people will view both fighters in the fight as legit fighters. Boxing is ***ing up more than it has ever.
