It's not who he's fought, it's when he chooses to fight them. He seems to only want to fight them when they have come off big losses recently.

Like Margarito before Pac-Clottey, was already saying that Arum told him he's going to fight Pacquiao next in November at Cowboys Stadium. All of these fights were all planned, Arum hasn't had any intentions of making Mayweather-Pacquiao since the first negotiations.
But fighting Clottey was the result of Pac refusing to take OST to fight Floyd. And those were the first negotiations.
"Last minute" may be a bit of a stretch, but I don't see Clottey as anything other than a replacement for the Floyd fight falling through.

Mosley at 147 for the WBA title that he won by beating Margarito would have been better. But I understand Roach said Mosley is too good and didn't want to fight him, which is just being honest I guess, something *******s can't do.
Notice that after the Cotto fight, he is now OK with fighting at 147 since they feel that Manny can handle being the smaller guy (come in at about 144) but still do well enough to beat these guys that come in at 147 at the weigh in and much more than that at fight night.

I think it was around the Hatton fight that Roach thought it may happen at some point (fighting Mosley). Being that Manny was still questionable at WW back then, Roach did have concerns of fighting Mosley and / or Cotto at 147 ..... therefore the catch-weight. After seeing the fight, I don't think it would have made a difference against Cotto.

Yall can hate all yall want on the Margarito fight but Pac banked $25mill+ and won a 8 division title which is something that WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN EVER.
Anyone who says they would turn down over $25mill+ and a historic accomplishment that has never and will never be done again before is a straight up liar and or moron.
