    Do europeans have a different boxing footwork???

    I was reading mannys book and in it freddy roach was saying that the europeans have better balance and footwork and thats why they are dominiating boxing right now...

    Is it true that europeans box differently and that there footwork is more evolved these days????

      They don't bounce or put themselves off balance as much. They fight a more textbook style than most regions of the world it seems. Of course, there are also fighters like Pirog, who fights awkward and more like an American fighter.

      And Europeans aren't dominating boxing. No one region is dominating boxing.

        yeah, mostly because Europeans are taught The Robot at an early age, and trainers heavily focus on The Robot as a way to teach footwork. I think they should change that.

            Who are these Europeans?

            It always confuses me.

            Because it only ever seems to be really referring to the Russians and eastern euro's.

                There is a reason why they call him SUGAR Matthew T-Bone Hatton and thats because of his silky european footwork skills.

                Americans = U Mad!

                  I completely disagree with that.

                  Euro fighters are known to fight too tall cause they fight with a shorter stance, in an effort to utilize their "fighting tall", but its a flawed idea imo, as it doesn't matter how tall you fight, your arms are still the same length, and all fighting tall does, is give the opponent a bigger target area to hit, particularly with the left hook when your coming back out of a roll.

                  American fighters fight with a wider stance, which makes them a smaller target area, and utilizes more power because you can generate more power from having a wider based stance, this is also helps develop more of a mid range game, as you cant roll your way inside if your fighting upright.

                    There isnt that much of a difference in the style of training nowadays, like you couldnt go American gyms teach this and Euro gyms teach this..Maybe this kind of general statement would of held more truth a decade or two ago but now..it really doesnt. Especially with the amount of "Euro" fighters that dont fight tall (please dont make statements like this when by Euro you mean the Kltisch bros) and the amount of feather fisted American fighters.
