My source is legit, my cousin is a supervisor at a restaurant in PR, and they do grand openings and things like that so they usually have celebrities signing autographs and posing for pics. Cotto was invited to one of the grand openings and I was told that dude was annoyed the entire time, refused to sign autographs and was acting like he hated being there. Obviously those apperances are not free (then I would understand) pero co~o for your own people? I guess it's a metro thing because Quintana, Juanma and Tito are completly different. And Juanma and Tito are from the metro area. Quintana is from my hometown in Moca PR, so I will be meeting him once I relocate to PR in July.

Yep, you ARE Puerto Rican. LOL

And yeah, there's someone who's a big fan of boxing at my dad's work who's said the same thing about Cotto (and how distant he is). Kinda' sucks. Some people are like that, I guess. It may be that he sees many fans as hypocritical, maybe? You know...bandwagoners? They "love" you one day, and then talk crap as soon as you take a loss. There's A LOT of that on the island.

Even at the moment, I know many people (here on the island) that openly root AGAINST Juanma. Different reasons to hate, I suppose.

And even though I didn't watch boxing back then when Tito was on top, I remember the idolatry surrounding him. He was and still IS beloved by Puerto Ricans because of his personality and how he's easy to approach. Always up for a picture or an autograph.

When I went to the Calderón Segura fight, he was walking around the arena posing and taking pictures with the fans. In fact, during one of the TELEVISED fights, people started watching him and not the fight. There was a crowd, mind you, way, way, way up in the stands cheering, "ˇSube, Tito, sube!"

He went all the way up there and actually took pictures with the crowd up there in the nosebleed section. Tito is such a sport.
