the crazy thing is. Rios showed some mental lapses in defense. You even heard Garcia in the corner tell him to be more careful and to take his time.

If this kid can get his defense just a notch better, he is going to be a force at that weight.

I knew it would be a good one because of the styles, which is why I was excited. Besides, it was the 2nd best LW against a very good contender.

        Yeah...this fight **** all over Khan-Maidana.

Acosta was a warrior in there...he was fighting back and trading as much as he could 'til he ran out of gas...

There wasn't much running or holding at all...there was NO surviving.

Uh....he was holding his ass off, it's just that Rios is strong dude. He wasn't having it the second half of that fight. Hard to keep a pressure fighter off of you like that, that's why the people that wanted Cotto to go to the body more or hold more against Marg, I say IT'S EASIER SAID THAN DONE.

Yeah...it is easier said than done...but like I said...until he was noticeably gassed (in the 8th round), there wasn't much holding at all...

Acosta was going through Hell and fighting back as much as he could...not running and holding and trying to survive nearly as much as Khan did...

You should check the fight again, when Acosta wasn't moving he was holding. He held a lot especially in the early rounds but give Rios credit, he wore him down.

Really was entertaining, both guys put on excellent performances but Rios was able to impose his style in the end for the win.

I'll watch it again because it was a good one...

I'm sure you saw Acosta fighting back and trading with Rios though...takin' it to his terminator ass more than enough...as long as he had the strength to do so...

You agree with what I'm sayin' about the difference between Acosta and Khan?

Well you know it depends on the school of boxing you come from. If you are coming from the Mexican perspective, then yes.

If you are coming from the pure boxing perspective then no. I think Khan did good to survive to be honest and I think it showed Maidana's lack of boxing and accuracy when he was unable to put him away.

Would it have been a more entertaining fight if Khan would have fought back like Acosta did? Yes but he might also be sleeping....hehehe

lol...and that's why I'm posting back and forth with you for a minute...I remember you...you have Class and are wise to the sport...a rarity on this board.

I personally don't get the whole "WOW. He survived. That's impressive!" sentiment...

There's never been a FOTY with that much running, holding, and surviving...
