It isn't disrespectful, showing your love for your culture and country does not equal putting another country down. Further more you were initially complaining about Donaire being associated with his mother country which is completely different to someone having a flag hung up for the world to see. One is essentially a belief ( which people are entitled to) the other is an expression ( which people are also entitled to).

Media in the Philippines is not controlled by some giant entity. Believe it or not it's nothing different from the British media. One ****** publication may set the tone and the rest would follow. I personally don't read them.
This ts need to travel to that country so he can see for himself. People there hardly talk about boxing just like in any part of the world. Donaire and Pacquiao can be in any country and Donaire would be perceived as the same prodigal son who made a big deal of something trivial out of his father when he could have settled it early on. Pacquiao's father is not the kind of father you would want as a kid, yet Manny never made anything of it. Go figure.
But I could agree with you, about the Philippine media, that is.

I don't know anything about the pinoy media, what I do know is that Donaire has some sorry fans. Go around this forum and you'll see a bunch of pinoys bad mouthing him, he makes up with his dad and he's the greatest thing since slice bread, now they're back attacking him as if he's a murderer because he wants to make more money.
