Who is the better counter puncher? Donaire or Mayweather?

Mayweather is often seen as a great counter puncher, but is Donaire better?

I would say Donaire is better, and here are my reason why.

Mayweather tends to only go for scoring counter punches while Donaire can deliver KO counter punching and has done several times.

Floyd needs to wear down his opponents, while Donaire can do his thing from the off.

Floyd needs a few rounds to adapt and learn his opponents style, he can lose the first few rounds adapting, Donaire adapts during a round and make adjustments much quicker than Floyd.

Donaire never gets tagged by anything big, Mayweather has several times.

Mayweather is defence first fighter, Donaire can come forward attack and still counter punch, much harder to do.


So who is the better counter puncher out of these two?

Mayweather's counters don't seem to hurt as much as Donaire's. Donaire has one punch KO power in his counters where as Mayweather takes 5-10 rounds before the effects start to show on the opponent.

Calm down buddy, he's only had 28 fights.. Mayweather had power in the lower divisions but his power at WW is very lacky, curious to see Donaire's weight progression in the future.

i would say money mayweather while his don't bring the power he still is more accurate and 9 times outta ten u make a mistake in front of may he will counter nd land flush, while in donaires case he can get a little bit predictable with the counter left hook nd i've seen fighters survive a few rounds while he was tryin to time it, i think donaires the bigger puncher by far but the best counter puncher in the game right now had to be floyd in my opinion
