The smothering played a bigger role than one might think, because Tyson is no inside fighter, tie him up, and he won't do *****.

I think Tyson could definitely beat Evander if he found a way to avoid the clinching and all the smothering.

A poor mans Frazier, not Mike Tyson, and it doesnt bare relevance on the match-up, especially if we are talking both fighters at their best.

Mike Tysons career ended the night he went to prison. If Evander had gone up to HW sooner and he and Mike had met sortly after Cus died, Tyson would have creamed him.

In the only reasonable time period this might have actually happened, I don't think so. By that time Tyson was not mentally strong enough and had strayed far too much from his technical skills to beat Holyfield.

Prime for prime, absolutely Tyson would have been able to beat him. I'd still take prime Evander at heavy over prime Tyson, but I have no confidence in that pick, just a gut feeling.

Tyson fans are the most delusional fans ever. All yall talk about is the head butts but no one ever talks about Tyson making a career of elbowing his opponents. He was supposed to be so rough and tough when he fought people that were scared of him. What happened was he ran across a man that had no fear and real boxing skills.

Legend has it, that Holyfield tapped that ass years before during sparring and Tyson's handlers put Holy on the first thing out of town. There is history there. I recall Holyfield asking for that fight in more than one fight interview in the mid 80's. Ill try and find the footage asap. Evander was one of the hottest things coming out of the Olympics. Instead of fighting that trash Tyson fought he could have ended all this arguing then. I dont make excuses for my favorite fighters. An ass whoopin is always official. Stop cryin.
