It would be a better match up if it was Tyson vs Vitali.

Both of the brothers move in slow motion compared to prime Tyson, he'd slip a jab and theyd quit the next round because one of their steroid enhanced bodies would suffer a muscle tear or something.

Prime Tyson would knock Wlad out when he would reach him. Wlad might jab Mike to death though.

        1. Tyson was destroyed by Kevin McBride, Buster Douglas, Danny Williams, Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield.

        2. That bum Douglas laid the blueprint to beat Tyson.

        3. Tyson struggled against tall fighters.

        4. Tyson had poor stamina, only dangerous early, would always fade.

        5. Tyson was mentally weak, if things didn't go his way, he would fold like a cheap tent.

The ridiculously overrated Tyson gets destroyed by either Klitschko.

The Purrity fight was 13 YEARS AGO. That's like bringing up Pacquiao's KO losses. It's totally irrelevant.

Wlad was only 21, only weighed 225 lbs and had never gone past 6 rounds, it was his 25th fight in 24 months....He dominated the fight and beat the shit out of Purrity for 11 rounds, but he punched himself out in the process, ran out of gas and collapsed from exhaustion. By the way, Vitali destroyed Purrity.

Do you want me to post videos of Tyson getting KTFO by Douglas, McBride, Lewis, Holyfield and Williams?

Tyson getting 4 times more votes!? Um I don't dare claim that you guys overrate Tyson so it's probably more of an underrating of Wlad...right?

The poll result is quite off IMO.

Very quick and effective counters, there. lol I agree with much...and whole-heartedly agree with the Herbie Hyde point.

I've watched the Lewis-Klitschko fight a few times. (Ironically, I was rooting for Vitali in that one. I was never a fan of Lennox.) There's no way anyone can tell me Klitschko "dominated" that fight. Vitali fought an excellent and courageous fight. All three judges scored that one 58-56, in favor of the elder Klitschko. My opinion is that it was a close fight, despite what the judge's scorecards might have shown. Both men were tiring, although it appeared Vitali had more left in the tank. Regardless, the fight had to be stopped on a punch-induced, legendary cut to Klitschko's left eye. Believe what you will, but there's no way Vitali "dominated" that battle.

Now for the topic at hand. I'm not a Mike Tyson "fan," per se. But, objectively speaking, it's my humble opinion that a prime Tyson posed a serious threat to any heavyweight that ever lived. There are a lot of Tyson fanboys on this forum. They're just as blinded by their fanaticism as the Klitschko fans are of their men. I see Tyson as being both underrated and overrated. Like the man, his legacy is a conundrum. He's not a top-ten ATG heavy, but he could have beaten anyone on that list on his best day.

Tyson would've knocked Wladimir out any day of the week. The younger Klitschko just isn't nearly as tough as his brother. Vitali would've stood a much better chance, due to his toughness and chin. I can easily visualize Tyson getting under Wlad's jab and firing off a three-punch combo, culminating in that infamous Tyson uppercut. The first time Wladimir felt that would probably be the last, considering his performance with fighters who are worlds removed from Tyson's punching power. A guy like Vitali might be able to weather a couple of those barrages, take Tyson into deep waters and have a chance at a late stoppage or UD. Wlad wouldn't get past the fifth or sixth round.
