Just like I said all along... Roach told Filipino reporter Joaquin Henson that he would insist on a pre-fight drug test from Mosley.
No later than 8 minutes after this article went public I made a thread about it on another boxing site saying how it was hypocritical to make that request. There were only about 3 links that would appear in google search after typing "Roach insists on Mosley drug test" into the search engine. Less than a day later there were over 10 pages worth, as other boxing fans on other boxing sites and blogs articulated his hypocrisy as well.
The next day, Roach denied all of it and said the reporter made it up. I made another thread talking about how I did not believe the reporter would lie on the adored trainer of their national hero & icon. I said that Roach publicly denied it because of the heat that boxing fans were putting on him. I was actually banned from that other website after making that thread.
And what do we have now? That same reporter speaking out and reassuring people that he would NOT have misquoted Freddie Roach. Now that evidence has surfaced about Roach being a liar, how can anybody believe ANYTHING that he has said in the past?
link:
"I wouldn't misquote Freddie -- he's a real friend and I wouldn't want to put words in his mouth. After I read Freddie's denial, I texted Freddie and asked him if he really wouldn't insist on a drug test. I said sorry if I misquoted him but recalled he said he would insist on a drug test during our conversation. He replied right away and texted, "normal testing.""
