    hahahahahahaha

But on a serious note, this thread will start some fires.

I voted for Pacquiao for two simple reasons and the two most important considerations when judging/ranking a fighter:

    1. Who faced the better opposition?
    2. Who had the most convincing/exciting/exhilarating/convincing wins?

The answer to both is Pacquiao.
Even before Pacman moved up to WW and beat DLH, therefore become a worldwide icon, the guy had already beaten Barrera, Morales, JMM and Ledwabo (people forget how good he was and how significant that fight was). That's multiple champions in multiple weight divisions and almost all of them were HOFers. Pac hadn't even turned 30 yet. Pac KO'd3 of his 4 best opponents and in all honesty should have won the first JMM fight too...if only the judge had known how to count.

Mayweather just like Pac had his defining fight with DLH, the fight that made him a cross over star. Before that he fought the rather terrible Baldomir (a choice of opponent which can be forgiven) and Zab Judah, a decent opoonent in his own right. But prior to that he fought at best B level opposition, Corley, Brussels, Ndou and a shot Gatti. You have to go all the way back to 2002 to see Floyd fight a truly elite fighter in Castillo. Corrales may also be regarded as elite. Floyd didn't look anywhere as destructive as a peak Pacquiao in any of those fights. KOs aren't always important but the killer instinct is. It wasn't there.

Since DLH his resume has been up and down for various reasons, Mosley may be classed as past it and too old, also too inactive. JMM was fat and Ortiz/Guerrero should never have been given the shot. You can't argue with Hatton though and that KO was impressive.

Looking at both guys objectively, you see that Pacquiao is verging on, if not already a top 20 - 25 ATG. Floyd is not.

wow Floyd is doing really well in this poll I didn't expect him to get as many as 25% of the votes.
But most can see Pac dared to reach for greatness. Floyd was always a little scared and wasn't sure he was worthy of it. So stayed in his comfort zone for too long did Floyd.

Manny Pacquiao will be remembered along the lines of Felix Trinidad.

Floyd will go down on the Ali/Robinson level.

Floyd admitted he cherry picked his fights for his advantages.
Floyd confessed he is a coward but at least he is a rich coward.
Floyd said (from the horse mouth) his health must comes first than fight those dangerous fights what his fans want because they don't pay his bills. His statement only supported the idea why he faked his retirement and vacations.

Yeah! Floyd will go down on the ali level. LMAO!

Floyd himself said he doesn't want to be known like Ali ..... Floyd said "health comes first"

Floyd admitted on several occasions that he selects his opponents carefully ....

You actually have to have the skills and resume like Ali to be in that level.

Mayweather fans are loving the Pac KO as they probably believe by now that it erased everything he ever achieved prior. But history will show in the long run who really defined greatness and went above and beyond. Floyd was in obscurity when Pacquiao was defying the odds.
Now you have Floyd trying his best to make people believe and Pacquiao having a bad stain on his legacy although remember Pacquiao before he fought Oscar has more merit than what Fraud Jr. has done so far practically.

Don't ever put his name with those two GOATS in the same sentence again.

Floyd robbed himself of credit for that fight by not making weight just like he is robbing himself of credit for Canelo with the catchweight

First of all, a fighters personality has nothing to do with their in ring accomplishments but that does not mean it does not have an effect on the perception of that fighters accomplishments in the media and general population, someone likable is always going to be looked upon favorably. Secondly you named six fighters, 4 of which Floyd fought too, two of them he beat at better times and one of them he beat handily while Manny lost to him by brutal KO, just saying "win or lose" does not negate the fact he lost. Fighting a great fighter and losing shows your willingness to fight greats but it is still a loss and shows you are not levels above the competition. Thirdly Floyd is still going strong or flourishing... however you want to put it... and Pac is not doing so well lately, that is not looking at a select part of their careers, it is just stating what is happening now and what happens at any point in their careers still counts when they have both retired. And lastly your last paragraph is negated by two things, 1. This thread was made a long time ago and a lot has happened since then. 2. In the last few weeks, the votes for Floyd have gone up over 6% and Manny's have gone down over 6%. That shows more people are now voting Floyd than Manny.
So if you think Manny is greater then cool or if you think Floyd is greater then cool, I really don't care either way but just stop posting ****** crap that has no value.
that is where most go astray.......

boxing fans should be boxing fans.........

i considered ali the goat because of his boxing accomplishments....

ali's stand on social issues and charity works make ali the man.....not ali the boxer...comprende?

in the same light, i do not use pbf's socail or non-social charisma in saying he is not greater than pac....

i look at his fights and his opponents and the circumstances of the fights....

don't put the element of hate or a fighter's persona on considering who is the better fighter

Although i voted for Pac, it won't stop his fans for calling me profanities, obscenities, and vulgarities. In fact, i expect more Pula K mula sa kanila.
