Comments Thread For: David Lemieux-Ishe Smith Won't Happen on December 3

Contrary to reports, Ishe Smith (22-5), based in Las Vegas, will not face rising middleweight star David Lemieux (24-0) on December 3 at the Bell Centre. Lemieux will appear in the main event on the second edition of the "Fast and Dangerous" series. Smith was offered the fight by Canadian promoter Goupe Yvon Michel, but he explained through several social networks that he turned the offer down because there wasn't enough time to get ready for the contest.

Should happen, if only to find out what happens when Lemieux's matched with a half-decent boxer, if not for the entertainment factor

Smith was lucky to get this offer once; I doubt he gets it again. Too bad he didn't have time to prepare.

After his fights with Jacobs and Guerrero he will be lucky to continue getting picked as an opponent for a young prospect because he has a tendency to make them look bad, even if they get the W.

I think Darren Barker would be an excellent match-up for Lemieux. Check out Barker on youtube - that guy has power!

What you guys dont know is that this is a dirty move that matchmakers use in boxing. They will let Lemieux train beforehand preparing for Smith and then at the last minute offer Smith a fight so he doesnt have any time to train for him and his style. Which would obviously show in the fight as the fighter with the more time trained obviously will win. And if Smith declines the offer as he did, he will be labled ducking.

David Haye did this with Monte Barrett and won. Tua gave Barrett a full training camp and look what happened.
