because there's a fake 154 title at stake offered by a corrupt governing body. if there's no title, the fight would be at 147 and nobody will complain about somebody getting weight drained. pac took the bait from wbc and he agreed to go for his 8th title but we all know he's too small for that weight whereas margarito has been going up and down 154 and 147 throughout his career without a problem.

Totally agree. Tony won't be weakend by the weight, in fact, it might make him sharper.

However, I just hate it on principle. Like is this really necessary, it's tarnishing a potentially really good win for absolutely no reason.

criticism of the catchweight is moot especially in todays time due to the 24 hr rehydration rule.

Most of the people act like they are medical doctors with tons of research backing them whenever they spew their ignorant catchweight balderdash. The fact of the matter is catchweights were invented due to prevent cancellations in fights.

not because of medical malfeasance. Catchweight criticism only came into prominence after the oscar v pac fight so *****s can use it as a talking point to discredit pac.

Do you people know how many fighters come in "weight drained" in today's 24 hour rehydration rule? almost everybody. Do we discriminate them? of course not because they win & it had no affect on the outcome of the fight & they arent big enough of a name like pac.

Whitaker vs Chavez was a a catchweight. HOw that fight turned out? Pernell was sooooooooo weight drained & at a disadvantage that he dominated chavez.

How about Oscar vs Hopkins? bernard was sooooooooooooo weight drained & at a disadvantage that he knocked out oscar.

Its only a problem when pac uses it. Opponents are only damaged by catcwegights when its pac's opponents.

****king ignorant disingenuous imbeciles make me sick pretending to be catchweight medical experts.

                  ****k off & die.
