Who would you rather be? Ali or Foreman

Think about it for a second. Who would you rather be?

    Ali:
    - Great Legacy, arguably the greatest heavyweight ever
    - But he has parkinsons, most likely due to boxing
    - Isn't as well off money-wise as some other boxers

    Foreman:
    - Good legacy, won the hw title as an old man but is always remembered for losing to Ali
    - Made lots of money (grills )
    - in better health

Do you think it was worth it for Ali?

EDIT: I'm talking about George Foreman by the way, Yuri Foreman grills didnt do too well

      Yeah.

But I would have to say Foreman. Ali is in terrible shape now and is suffering. Foreman is doing pretty well.

          ali then.

i remember a larry holmes interview when he was talking about ali.

he started listing all the things ali had that he was jealous of when he was younger.

he mentioned the celebrity , the money , the legacy , etc.

he mentioned "women" like 3 times listing them.

          it went something like this.

the women + oh man , the women + you can't believe the women

anyone else see a bit of pac-floyd in this?

Obviously i wouldn't wish anything bad on any boxer, but manny's style could lead to problems in later life, although his legacy will be greater.

Floyd will always be a bit of a 'what if' - he has the skills to beat almost everyone, but doesn't get in the ring too often (not hating on him, just saying he should have fought cotto/marg if they were 'easy' fights)

the difference is floyd won't be rich like foreman, he'll be broke by the time he's fifty. sad but true unfortunately

From what i read in Ali biographys and in his own book and from what i have seen on documentarys and interviews with him and his family he seems to be genuinely happy, at peace and satisfied with his life. He has a great faith in God and even if he isn't physically well right now he says he dosen't regret anything and has had and still have a great life. He says the battle with his sickness is just another fight in his career. He is loved by people all over the world and will be remebered as the greatest heavyweight ever and a great human being. I choose Ali.

I remember a thread kind of like this one where you got to choose from being the greatest boxer ever but poor or rich and nothing else. Some people got angry as hell when i picked the first alternative.

Nice to know he's happy at least

I suppose knowing that you'll be remembered forever as one of the greatest helps with dealing with parkinsons?
