Did you find Dawson vs. Pascal exciting?

Well Pascal has been in some good fights and is more than willing to exchange if he has to, look at the first 5 rounds of Froch vs Pascal. Anyway i thought it was a good fight that was starting to warm up really well in the last few rounds so its a shame that it ended then as i wouldnt have been suprised if both guys went down in the 12th. not great but good.

It seems to me that the question was whether this fight was exciting?

And, it seems to me that this fight started warming up in the late rounds, in good part, because Dawson started to punch a bit more. Too bad that it was also about the time that Pascal started circling and stayed away a bit more. Dawson managed to get to Pascal some but some doesn't help to make it a good fight. I saw it as a few degrees south of good. It's just me, of course.

Note on the above statement of Dawson "punching a bit more": curious that, in a number of sequences, after unleashing combinations some of which found their mark, Dawson eased up, stepped back and inexplicably stopped. Curious too that after seeing that Pascal was dazed after that 11th round upper cut, Dawson jumped in appearing ready to finish the job; instead, he simply looked at Pascal, did nothing and thus wasted precious seconds. Even lesser fighters would have known that it was a moment not to be wasted. They would have pounced.

Well, Pascal appeared to know. When he had Dawson in trouble he did something about it although the way he went about it left quite a bit to be desired.

It was a frustrating fight because Dawson was reluctant to throw. Had Dawson thrown a bit more, the fight would of been an instant classic and up there for fight of the year. Either way, it was a very entertaining fight and I enjoyed it.

I found it very exciting. OK, so the in-ring action wasn't some thrilling ****fest, but the tension in watching an undefeated fighter getting murked in front of an amped Canadian crowd made for lots of excitement IMO.

Not FOTY, but certainly better than a lot of these other big fights which have ended up as duds.
