Danilo Haussler won the vacant WBA Intercontinental super middleweight title by majority decision over former champion Cristian Sanavia. The Opi 2000 company, run by Salvatore Cherchi (who manages and promotes Sanavia) was outraged by the decision and on Monday will ask the WBA for an immediate rematch. Cherchi will also send the VHS of Sanavia-Haussler to the WBC to show them why he believes Sanavia deserves to fight Eric Lucas next September, to gain the #1 contender status to the WBC title held by Markus Beyer.

Magee loses to Tsypko on points
Brian Magee has vowed never to fight in Germany again after losing a controversial split decision to unbeaten Vitali Tsypko in Nuremberg.
Magee controlled most of the 12 rounds but it was not enough to win the vacant European super middleweight title.
Two judges ruled 115-113 and 115-114 in favour of the Ukrainian, with just the third backing Magee 115-114.
"I do not know what more I could have done. I am very disappointed not to return home as champion," said Magee.
"I dominated the fight. I raised my hands at the end and was confident I had won the fight while their camp did not look too confident they had won it."
Magee's coach Harry Hawkins said: "I feel betrayed.
"Tsypko sits in the dressing room right now knowing he is not the European champion.
"I think Brian worked him in every department and also through his jab.
"He had him in trouble in the sixth and 12th rounds and if there were any doubts I said to Brian make sure you win the 12th round which he clearly did.
"Still, he didn't get the decision. We won't be back in Germany."

the most ironic thing about all this german ****e, is that germans are supposed to be ********ic people...........yet they all seem to be happy with all this robbing, cheating, fighting unknown opponents, etc.........i can understand the promoters' point, but how can all those spectators keep going and cheering for such ****e.....this is what amazes me most.......
even during abraham vs eastman, abraham would throw 5 -6 punches and miss all (because eastman was too crafty) and yet the crowd would cheer as if they thought that abraham had connected on all punches.....
this is more than a disgrace..........
when calzaghe fought veit in germany, calzaghe started at a 100 miles per hour and was looking for a knockout...this is very risky for the obvious reasons.......he was doing this because he didn't want the fight to go anywhere near a decision.....
