in all fairness i think both fighters really need each other. i think if they fought, it would be a great fight & no matter who wins both fighters legacies would be so much better because of it. they need each other. they would have a gaping whole on both of their resumes if they dont fight.

boxing fans will forever hold a gurdge against both fighters. they need to fight. they mush fight.

No Baldomir was the WW Lineal Champion.

Why didnt he fight Cotto and Marg?

Because Bob Arum wanted him for a 3 fight deal that included Marg, Cotto and Hatton. Floyd dint liek the cash for the Hatton and Cotto fights so he said no thanks. Fought Baldi then fought Oscar.

Even Casamayor and Freitas looked the other way.

Floyd was a champion moving up to fight super fights like Manny. Manny has not cleaned out any division since 122. Cotto and Margarito were inferior fighters blown up by Arum's hype machine. Williams is a fighter if anything any of the champions could've fought, and to be honest, and I don't buy the excuse...but Williams is not a draw in their minds. So I disagree with most fo what you said with respect but you make a good point mentioning Williams...
My initial point was that Pac fought Marquez at his ideal weight not Floyd.... not even close. How is this, Marquez is coming down in weight for his next match as he admitted that WW was too high for him. That's 2 steps down in weight classes! I believe you need to read up on the weight story (Marquez vs Floyd).

Floyd has been WW for about 5 - 6 years now. Just go down the list. There is something suspect about most if not all. That is what people complain about. You think Marquez was a good choice, most people don't.

You talk of steps down and steps up like its lots , JMM is only manipulating a few pounds of real fight weight not the division weigh-in limits like you assume , he weighed 143 fighting Pac who was weighing 146 and this was with a LW weigh-in ,,,, guys need to understand how water weight is manipulated for a weight 30 hrs before the fight , in reality the weigh-in is nowhere near as important as the actual weight they fight at , for instance Hatton weighed 153 fighting KT Castillo etc all his JW fights he was 153ish stepping in the ring , fights Floyd at WW guess what he weighed 153 on the night , against Luis he weighed 159 and when you look at his body its easy to see how sluggish he was at 159 , thats only 6 pound of his best ,,,,,

Why wouldnt you think Pac is the best fighter in the world? Even Clottey said Pac is the only one he thinks he ever lost to. He said he had to be that negative against Pac or he would have been knocked out? Clottey has fought all the WWs but a former 116lb guy is the only one he thinks he lost to. Why dont you think Pac is the best if PBF wasnt in the equation?

No one beat Cotto like that as well. Dominated him from the outset before stopping him. Cotto said Pac was the best as well.
When and if PBF beats Pac, you will think PBF is the best. PBF beating one good WW since coming back dont equate to Pac beating 2 good WW's in the same space of time.
Do the maths and you will get the right answer.

PBF is the no2 best boxer on the planet. That is a big achievement for anyone. If PBF isnt satified with that and is complaining about the ranking. He knows what hes got to do.

just another set of excuses burner. the point is floyd didnt fight those great hall of fame fighters.

that's my whole point. he didnt fight them. he has not graced the ring with a fellow great fighter in their prime.

just a buncha very good fighters below hof & great fighters but were past prime with jmm, mosley, & oscar.

actually you got it ass backwards. its the friday weigh in that is the most important. i think its utter bull*****e that fighters weigh in a day before they fight. that allows boxers to fight out of their weight class & take advantage of the 24 rehydration.

                  that's why you get 135 pounders fighting at 126 & 130, you get 160 pounders fighting at 147, you get 122 pounders fighting at 112 & 115.

marquez best weight was 126-130 max. he was already pushing it at 135 as evidence by almost getting knocked down by a light punching baby bull & a tough battle vs a shot 39 year old casamayor.

you expect me to believe him going up to welterweight to face a undefeated welterweight had no effect on him?

zero fights vs great hall of famers in his prime.

Agree completely, and it could easily be said that Pacquiao hasn't beaten a great fighter in his prime either.
