I know this has been talked about before but with James Toney suspended and not allowed to fight for the WBA belt for three years to me it seems like a good time to bring this up. Lets say Tyson wins a couple of easy fights and Ruiz continues to beat non middleweight for a couple of fights, Does Tyson-Ruiz have a shot of happening? And Who wins and why?

Ruiz has underearned as a heavyweight champion and as result would like to cash in on a big pay-day against Tyson even if he(tyson)is not the most deserving to earn a shot at title.I read somewhere that Ruiz had only earned about 10 million$ as a professional boxer and I'm sure you guys know that isn't alot of money after trainor fees, promoters, lawyers get done with you. So Ruiz would benefit financially if he gave Tyson a shot because all the Ruiz haters(and there's alot) would buy the ppv just to see him get knocked out and all Tyson's fans would buy it too because they want to see him champ again.
As for the result, I think that Ruiz would tie him up alot and wrestle his way to a UD. Mike would suffer his first decision loss.

damn, i misread this... i thought you were talking about tyson-toney... my bad... same thoughts here bro, ruiz clinching tyson to death... or tyson by chance knockout... tyson should make a lot of wild swings inthis one... and if gets frustrated, he will really bite ruiz's ear off, lol... if tyson can't stand the head of evander fighting him like a third hand, i think he will laso lose his cool on ruiz' clinching...

Yeh, hopefully we would see the "old Tyson" Fenech speaks about and Tyson would take care of business early but we all know that John Ruiz has the ability to always retain his title whether it be through an ugly win(or loss or NC ).Lets hope if this bout happens, Ruiz's luck has run out!

i hate ruiz, but at this point in tyson's career i'd have to pick ruiz... ruiz has been busy, fought some good fighters(rj/toney) and beaten a few decent ones(rahman)... while tyson has been inactive, fought nobodies, and lost to williams...
