Nervous when your favorite fighter is fighting?

Like NiGe2011, I too get very nervous, when my favorite boxer is fighting. You know about the fight months in advance, all the anticipation, the hype is driving you nuts, so this is what I do, this is my crazy logic...
I bet against my favorite fighter. I bet for him to loose! (Two reasons)
    1) I am very unlucky when it comes to betting on a winner. 90% of the time, I loose
    2) If my fighter wins, than who cares if I loose the money! If he looses, well, at least you made some dough.
But if you bet on your favorite fighter, he looses AND you loose the money? That's too much of a pain!

Thus my advise to you: if you bet, bet against!

I completely agree, I'm a big SF Giants fan, and in the World Series vs. the Angels, my buddy asked me "how much would you pay to guarantee a Giants World Series victory?" I said about $100, and he said "great, bet that much on the Angels" At 1st I didn't get it, but then he explained: "if the Giants win, then you paid $100 for their victory, if they lose, you're $200 richer" It took a while, but in the end I understood (and I ended up $200 richer)

      Yep,

Sorry, forgot to mention that it works in any sport, not just boxing.

      Thanks

This does not mean that you "believe" that your fighter will loose.. this is sort of buying yourself so called INSURANCE.

Think about it, if you bet all your points here on Mayweather, because you're so confident that he's gonna win. If, and only if there is an upset.. Your favorite fighter lost AND you lost all of your points. You will be devastated!

I am always excited and nervous before and during big fights. Jones vs. Tarver II was a fight were I was very nervous, I wanted and picked Jones to win but had a bad feeling something strange was going to happen. After the first round I was confident, it looked like Roy was going to have his way and then in the 2nd round I turned away a split second and Roy was down. It was crazy to see Roy Jones get knocked down, I was speechless for like 2 minutes. The anticapation leading up to that fight was incredible in my opinion.

What i sometimes do when a fighter i like and want to win is fighting is bet against him. Yes, bet on the opponent to beat your guy. Don`t bet allot though. So that if your fave fighter wins you lose a bit of cash ( say 5 bucks ) but your happy cos your guy won. If your fave fighter loses at least you win some money! Don`t beat too much though, you`ll end up routing against your guy!

I never though of that logic but yeah that's a good idea to bet against your fav, but still though I feel as if I bet against my favorite team that I'am wanting them to lose, it makes me feel like I'am not behind my team so it's a little awkward for me to bet against my fav.
