Barbados Joe Walcott (the original) was a 5' 2 welterweight fighting guys with 50 plus pound advantage over him.

They act like Pacquiao is the first short guy with that type of height & reach to fight for a welterweight crown.

Duran who won titles from 135 to 160 is basically the same height & reach as pacquiao.....

          So was Jimmy Mclarnin 126-147...

          So was Barney Ross 126-147....

Even Ray Robinson was a golden glove featherweight & lightweight title.

I don't know if this was true but I read somewhere that Walcott neck size was the same neck size of Mike Tyson. And, I find that crazy for a guy who is only 5'2. It said he had really broad shoulders and was real stocky. But, if that neck size is true. Then that is insane. He must of have been taking some serious HGH.... LOL...

edit: Earlier I mentioned that Langford didn't have a shot until Jack Johnson. But, I forgot that he did fight Barbados Joe Walcott for the WW title. It was a draw but by all accounts and reports Langford should of gotten the decision.

billy conn had 7 losses at 135-147 but rules 175.

billy conn got koed in 3 rounds at welterweight but went 13 rounds with joe louis at heavyweight.

              **** happens.

what pac is doing is nothing new. Pac is hardly the first short guy to take on & beat big guys in bigger divisions. but the fact that its the internet age now & even though a wealth of information is a click away, posters are still ignorant.
