Clottey is unquestionably one of the top welterweights out there. Problem is that he's a diva. For some reason he thinks he's bigger than he really is, so he overprices himself. In turn he misses out on the big fights that he could win or at least look impressive and raise his value. His confidence is killing his career. He needs to just take a small piece of a fight purse against a Williams,Mosley,Margarito, etc, etc. A big win over any top fighter will get him the big money and recognition he deserves. Look forward to seeing what he does in 2010.

tough tough call. both claim to be the best while lacking a great resume. floyd stayed away from good fighters at the end of his career while calzaghe stayed away from good fighters till the end of his career. both avoided the best challenges like pac, mosley, cotto, or sven ottke, prime hopkins, prime jones, for calzaghe. both are full of jibberish excuses and contradict themselves constantly. both are attention seeking whores and will do anything to be in the public eye. ex. going on humiliating dancing shows. both are possibly gay(nothing wrong with that btw). calzaghe dated a ****** and floyd is surrounded by men who rub him down for money. i'll say draw?

He cut th man on th third round with a headbut, Cotto had blood flowing into his eye for 9 rounds and Clottey still could not destroy him, as you like to think he would??????????

I actually think that Quintana and Collazo also have more than average chance of beating Clottey just on style alone.

Nah bro....clottey beat Cotto. It was close but Arum made sure the decision went to Cotto so he could set up the Cotto vs Pac fight.

I say he beats Mosley and im a huge SSM fan. I just think stylistically Clottey has a bit of Winky Wright about him the way he holds the guard and counters.

At this stage i reckon if he had a rematch with Margs he would win that too despite losing the first time.

The only 2 guys @ 47 i see beating Clottey right now are Paul Williams and Mayweather. Mayweather based on style. Stylistically Mayweather would be a terrible match for clottey. Judah (whilst i though he was losing) did very well against clottey using his speed and movement whilst still making elementary mistakes like having his lead fot inside of clotteys instead of outside. Mayweather is too good defensively and with his feet/hands and movement. He wouldn't hurt Clottey but would cruise to a decision.

And i think paul is just too active for a guy with Clotteys style. His reach and height + chin will ensure he should win a close one.

Agree 100%. He needs to realise he should be fighting more before his time passes him by.
