This is the Williams hype b.s. falling off the tracks that were built by leprechauns, fairies, and werewolves i.e. imaginary and not grounded in reality or sound logic.
Williams is a good fighter, uncommon natural attributes, and an exciting style, if you're a fan i can understand. But he has his technical flaws, everyone from 147-175 isn't afraid of him and no, he isn't jesus christ.
This is for the PW fanboys who have his **** so far up their ass that they were calling Martinez a clubfighter, euro/southamerican bum & saying that he isn't ****.
Now for the fight. In numerous threads i said that i slightly favoured Martinez and thought that he'd win & get robbed. I feel i was right.
I also called that he had more than capable power and would be able to earn Williams respect, alot thought he was feather fisted. I'm not rubbing that in anyones face though cuz i can understand that argument before the fight although i disagreed and explained why.
The Letterman scorecard was absurd. The 119-110 defies ****ing logic. I think at the very least, Martinez won 115-113. He landed the more meaningful & powerful shots in the vast majority of the rounds and it wasn't like he was potshotting. He was more than willing to stand and trade often in the fight. Look at Williams face, look at Martinez. Pretty clear.
With this and the numerous other fights this past year Americans need to stfu about German and other countries being unfair. The U.S. has as horrendous judges and refs as any other place. Doesn't matter where it takes place, a judge like that ****** with the 119-110 should get reviewed & suspended along with not being able to go anywhere near a significant fight for a very long time. It ruins the sport.
Manny steward's 'toughness' b.s. While he recanted to some extent and gave Martinez respect towards the end of the fight his bias showed through, it's very prevalent with Americans. Around the 4th or 5th he was saying that Martinez didn't have the "street toughness" as Williams and PW would win cuz of this. This was around the 5th when Martinez had already more than demonstrated how tough he was.
You don't have to have tattoo's, be black, be american or any other of that bull**** to be tough. It seems quite common with Americans to believe that you have some innate toughness that evades the rest of the world, cease with this ******ity please.
Anyways, any comments are welcome, sorry for the length & i know not all Americans harbour the opinions that i have criticized.
