BS excuses. if you cant see ward is completely superior to kessler you need to find another sport to watch.

i was shocked ppl couldnt see it going into the fight, but making excuses at this point is just pathetic. kessler is an average fighter and he got taken to school, live with it.

Credit to ward he fought a good gameplan i give him the benefit of the doubt i dont think the headbutts were intentional but even if they hadn't happened i think he would have still won on points anyway.He had a very tricky style and asked questions of kessler but he simply didn't have the answers.I still think kessler is a class fighter though and will learn from this fight.I think he needs to work more on his inside game and work on more lateral movment.Can't wait for froch vs kessler stylisticly it should be a great match up.I have kessler winning it but froch will make it a war.

all the credit in the world to ward but that ref was brutal, not one warning for holding, one of the many problems with the sport, still a pretty good fight though. cong**** to ward.

Thats the point I have tried to make a few times. Ward was perfectly capable of winning without the dirty tricks, so it was distasteful to see him doing them anyways.

They may have been "accidental" headbutts, but he definitely wasn't trying to avoid the accidents.

If you heard in Ward's corner early in the fight, they told him several times : "let him hold you." At the time, I thought it was because they were concerned about Ward possibly gassing out late in the fight vs the more experienced Kess. But then I realized that Ward's corner saw that Andre was the tougher guy. And he was bruising up MK.

I have no problem with anything that AW did. NO PROBLEM. In fact, I wish Andre Dirrell has fought more like that instead of whining to the ref every ten seconds.

Ward not only beat Kessler, he beat him up. Great fighters all use rough-housing tactics and dirty tricks. The thing is, I don't believe that Ward was doing it intentionally. But he didn't shy away from it as it happened. Which tells you that his mind was in the right place and he has the mental toughness to be an elite champion.

The excuses coming from Mikkel Kessler and his fans are amazing. He was absolutely dominated, a couple of headbutts didnt change the outcome.

Its hardly making an excuse when you are headbutt so frequently and so badly that you get cut over both eyes, under one eye, and the fight is stopped due to cuts caused by a headbutts.

Ward was the better man, but the Ref really didn't give Kessler a fare shake at getting into the fight.

I completely agree with this and your other post. I don't blame Kessler for complaining. Even in the later rounds despite being outboxed he still had a puncher's chance. Ward was clearly the better fighter that night and I'm sure he would have won even without the headbutts but he really did himself a disservice by smearing his win.

Before the fight i bet on Ward to win. Though i didn't expect Ward to dominate Kessler like he did. Ward completely outclassed Kessler in every department. I don't think the dirty tactics were bad at all, people praise Bernard Hopkins on his dirty tactics and just say he's an old school fighter he's allowd to do that and all that rubbish, so Andre Ward can do what he wants. He didn't even do anything wrong Kessler was holding him too, plus the headbutt was irrelevant as Kessler was getting dominated the whole fight before the cuts even happened.
