Roy Jones should try to change his style....

Maybe if Roy changed his trainer to Emanuel Steward or Joe Goosen, they could try to fix some of his defensive flaws. I think the style Roy fights with is suited for people in there 20's. If he could change his style of fighting and keep his hands up maybe he could regain the glory of his past.
What do you think of this idea? should Roy change his trainer?

Nah IMO Roy is Roy, he wont change how he fights. He just wont be fighting again

I think he has too much of an ego to change his style. Should he try to change his style and win, the fact of him changing his style will be the only thing talked about, none of the commentators will care about how good he looked. But if I could make the call for him, I'd change him to a style what is not only best suited for him defensively, but also comfortable..

At this point it's all too late to "change" anything, I mean the thing that Roy needs to change are very fundamental I'm pretty sure that keeping your hands up, don't go backwards, and do not lean back is something that has been preached all throughout Roy Jones Jr.'s boxing career, going all the way back to his youth. He's not just gonna change by hiring the best trainer out there, with what he has conditioned himself to do for 20 plus years.

Judging from his last two outings, it looks like he has switched to Emanuel Steward - he's getting the same advice Wlad is.

Haha, that's why I've been saying they should both fight each other.

What Roy Jones Jr. needs most is not a new trainer or change of style, but a huge set of balls, I think Tarver and Johnson stuffed it up so far up his insides he has lowered himself to "confronting" a 300 plus lb. twinkie eatin' rapper that would break a sweat just trying to throw a punch.

his problem is he's to old to be jumpin between theese weightclasses. i think cruiserweight would be good for him, or toney at heavy

all he needs to do is go down in wait and he will be fine

he cant change his style. The guy is already in his late 30's and has never learned the fundamentals of the sport cause he never needed to.

Its not his style thats the problem its that he's getting old and time will ruin every fighter.
