Was Marquez a good win for Mayweather?

Did anyone even think he had a chance to beat mayweather? He looked like **** in the 24/7 episodes. I mean he was really slow, and even his trainer pointed that out. That wasn't the Marquez that gave Pacman trouble. Yet the commentators made it seem like Mayweather accomplished something huge by beating Marquez. All you have to do is compare Marquez in the fight with floyd mayweather with Marquez at the lower weights and you'll see that there is a difference in speed, and ability. In my opinion Mayweather didn't prove anything by beating Marquez.

    No.

Like you said, that wasn't the "real" JMM.

The real JMM is a natural 26'-30' pounder. At that weight, you can't touch him.

No it was not. But that is the past now. PBF has a choice to make after November 14th.

        Yes.......

When you dominate and virtually wipe wash the number #2 P4P fighter in the world, after a 2 year lay off, who most thought had beat the number #1 P4P in the world of course it is impressive.

And the scary thing is Mayweather didnt even have to come out of second gear in the entire fight.

And yes Mayweather did have alot of size on Marquez, but in the old days the likes of Sam Langford and Henry Armstrong would give just as much weight and even more than JMM and still beat the best around.

So you can't take all Mayweathers credit away. As fighters stepping up in weight can be very dangerous especailly when they are world class like JMM.

For a comeback fight against the #2 P4P fighter in the world, and after being laid off for almost two years, I'll say it was a good win.

it wasnt a good win in my book i mean getting a guy to jump up two weight divisions at the age of 36. i would have gave him more respect if he would have fought a tune up against lets say louis collazo or quintana atleast they are WW

but i understand the logic of floyed facing jmm for alot more $$$$$

              Nah man.
Marquez isn't himself at the weight he fought Floyd in.

All this fight did is make people think that Marquez sucks which isn't true at all. No one beats Marquez at his natural weight IMO.

p4p is meaningless when the size difference is so huge.

Decent win, quite good for a comeback fight but not legacy enhancing or anything. Good name to have on your resume though I guess.

A good win, nothing more or less.
