Just rewatched Froch-Direll, counted 8 rabbit punches and 15 holds

I scored the fight 115-113 for Dirrell. Gave Dirrell 1,2,4,5, 11, and 12. I gave Froch 6,7,8. I scored round nine 10-10, even, and I scored round 10 9-9 because Dirrell won the round easily but was deducted a point. Round 12 was close but I gave it to Direll for landing the cleaner shots.

Other stats I counted mostly fouls:
    Dirrell:
Holding - 16 times (didn't hold really until the 6th round)
Punching on the break - 1 time
Slipped on the ads - 3 times

    Froch:
    Holding - 6 times
Holding and hitting - 4 times
    Rabbit Punches - 8 times
    Throwdowns - 1 time
Punches on the break - 4 times

Overall I'd say it way a close fight, but Dirrell won. I also believe Froch fought dirtier than Dirrell, which has been an item of debate. Although Dirrell held a good amount, as Lennox Lewis says "holding is a part of the sport", whereas rabbit punching and hitting on the breaks is more of a foul. Froch even held Dirrell by the back of the head and puched him on a few occassions.

In a fight with some swing rounds, I'm fine with Froch getting the decision. I didn't give it to him, but scoring always has opinion mixed in. What I do confirm is that it was Froch who was fighting dirty and not Dirrell.

maybe if dirrell didnt turn around and flop to the ground in the middle rounds he wouldnt have been wacked in the back of the head...

Although i believe Dirrell won a close fight, the reason why Froch fought dirty is because Dirrell forced him to. He was too frustrated that Dirrell kept holding him all night, falling over on purpose and just making the fight rubbish to watch in front of his home crowd. Dirrell was ducking, diving and turning his head everywhere Froch has to hit him somewhere because if he didn't throw any punches he would have lost the decision.

Dirrell may have won on my scorecard, but he fought a joke of a fight considering he was trying to take a world title from a home favourite and i can see exactly why the judges wern't impressed. He looked like a crybaby moaning to the ref despite the fact it was his holding and crap that was making the fight dirty in the first place. He made the fight boring and looked like he was afraid to get hit. I'm in no way a Froch fan but you can't blame Froch for the rabbit punching, what's he supposed to do? Not punch and let Dirrell hold his way to a decision?!

Watch the fight again, Froch didn't land a punch for a minute and a half. Same thing in the second roung.

Froch was dirty because that was the only way he could land. Dont forget when he blatently held behind the head and landed like three shots. Dirrell made the mistake of complaining because the ref wouldnt dare have that crowd turn on him.
