Comments Thread For: BoxingScene?s Midweek Mailbag: NYSAC?s Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach decision, Daniel Dubois, Claressa Shields, Gilberto Ramirez

It's dishonest to compare the Davis situation to Mayweather's trainer entering the ring for 4 reasons:
      1. Mayweather entered the ring during a timeout, not during an ongoing round like Gervonta's trainer tending him during the round. The ref had called timeout for two fouls.
      2. Judah's trainer also entered the ring during the timeout. It was in response to Mayweather, but still, both trainers entered the ring. Not just one.
      3. Mayweather didn't actually make contact with either fighter. No assistance was rendered, whereas Gervonta's trainer rendered direct assistance to Davis.
      4. Mayweather was ejected from the fight. No punishment at all was rendered to the Davis corner for their infraction, which again, took place during an active round.
