Comments Thread For: BoxingScene roundtable: Was the Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach Jnr draw fair?
Davis-Roach was a superbly matched fight, and the draw likely sets up what would be a welcome, fan-friendly rematch. But was the outcome of Davis-Roach fair?

The fact that Davis, after taking a knee , rushed full speed to his corner tells you he knew he had to beat the count, thus it should have been ruled a KD.
The REAL problem is Tanks opposition. He’s a 135lber NOT facing other 135lbers. He’s fighting featherweights! Take this B off the p4p list. Take Bam for example: he fought and beat the top guy in his division and won!!Tanks reseme needs serious context. He’s very popular but has never fought the top guy in any division he’s campaigned in. MAN tf up B!!
I scored this fight and had Roach winning even without the extra point that should have been deducted against Tank for taking a knee.
But the PBC is dirty. It's funny how no one even brought up how another boxer on the card in Russell was gifted in a previous fight to help keep Russell marketable. The PBC is corrupt.
No Roach won the fight, the knee and then a draw says Roack won, I don't know why its not overturned the only thing I can think off is Roach has to apply for it and he is being paid not too. and then given a rematch and much greater purse, its not a good look for Tank at all.
Last week, Stephen Breadman Edwards used a term to describe Duran’s win over SR Leonard.
He came up with the conclusion that Duran fought over his head and he came back down to earth in the rematch. The proper term is “Regression to mean”.
Roach fought over his head aka “Regression to mean” and I don’t believe he will win the rematch. There is so much stacked against Roach. The judges, the ref and the promoters who are the A side, which is Tank.
There has to be another way to appeal this ridiculous decision aka robbery. I don’t know what that is because rarely does that happen. This decision should be a win for Roach but it will not change. Roach will lose the rematch and this asterisk-laden dubious win will go into the history books as a “Win” for Tank. Not for boxing fans.
