The bar for talent is pretty low when considering who they hire for boxing commentary

DAZn has those two morons barak and whats his name, no idea how they got a show they dont know anything about boxing from their comments, literally two random dudes who know nothing about the sport probably an executives cousins.

So if you have anything remotely resembling public speaking ability and are already a name in boxing then its pretty easy to get in.

"far more than ever watched an Andre Ward fight, a Marco Antonio Barrera fight, even a Roy Jones Jnr fight". Promoters still don't get it. Put American boxing back on basic tv and people will watch it. Just don't be giving fighters 5million to fight bums ( PBC).

I enjoyed The Contender and must say I never thought at the start of the show that Sergio would win it. For what it's worth, I enjoy listening to Sergio's commentary and pay attention to his observations and fight breakdowns as well as scoring. Quite often he sees what I do not see and I also find than more often than not he is on the money.

Without a doubt. It never ceases to amaze me how few boxing commentators are both articulate and knowledgeable. No other sport is like that. When Sergio first started commentating, I was somewhat surprised. But I was happy for him, and he did a good job. Nonetheless, if you told me then that it would be the beginning of a 15 year (and counting) career for him, I wouldn’t have believed it.
