Boots had no momentum and has stagnated his career. Very mismanaged and bad luck with Showtime leaving. He needs meaningful fights to lift his profile and has to stay more active. Barrios is the low hanging fruit that everyone wants and is going to go to the highest bidder. Stanionis has been stagnate because of postponements and injuries. This is a good fight for both fighters. There is nothing else on the horizon and the only name the can generate interest is Lopez that has been calling top guys out at higher weights.

He still hasn't. And if his dad keeps pulling the "we ain't trying to fight you right now; let's save it for undisputed" stuff, he never will. There's a reason he's got zero big fights against credible opponents...

Quite disappointing, when considering that Ennis vs Ortiz Jr was a makeable fight.

He's so talented, blessed from above, so 'Boots' should have had at least one big fight already.

I'm not sure Eddie can deliver for him, but perhaps he can speak to Turki again and get something big.

I don’t get what Sho leaving the scene has anything to do with Boots ???
What he needs is to stop refusing fights
Stanionis I do feel bad for cause that was some harsh bad luck when Ortiz was going through medical problems

I’m glad Hearn recognizes that it’s “unification or bust” for Boots, especially since he turned down an Ortiz fight.

He had a network that was willing to air his fights so he had some type of financial backing. Once loss he had to go and negotiate and went with the one the promised him the most and now is stagnate again.

HBO had fighters they like to air and so did Showtime. There are fewer and fewer networks willing to air boxing. Look how PBC is on almost total idle, they have no network and no one to pay for the fights. Making all those ppv's didn't help and the flopped that last Amazon card.

Slow Eddie talks more than he does
If you remember correctly , not long ago he was saying had to move up to 154
Many more contradictions than just that

Then Vergil moves up to 54 and who does he fight?? Freddie Lawson (WHO!??!!), then Thomas Dulorme, who fights at 140. Then he fights a real guy at 54, Serhii Bohachuk, and gets is ass beat but gets a gift decision. FOH!! Who got the belts at 54?? He should be focusing on them not a guy at 147 but as i stated earlier, thats his thing. Boxing continues to get worse, i check in sometimes and its the same old bullshiht. Fighters wanting to pull up fighters from lower divisions instead of fighting the real killers in their own division. Shiht is straight trash!!! Im all but done with boxing. Thank God for other sports.
Mean Machine, Bohacuk and now Madrimov, that's more than Boots has done in his entire boxing life which is 11 more career fights than Ortiz. Ortiz was lined up to fight Stanionis and Tsyzu until those fell through for circumstances beyond his control. We gotta put things in proper context. But if that is what u call a duck, they we need a whole new terminology for what Boots has been doing especially once facts came out that there was a great possibility he was been lined up for Bud and he faked out and clearly did another fake out with Ortiz. It is okay to criticize your favorite fighter if they are not measuring up.
