Comments Thread For: The English title fight between Lewis Wood and Josh Holmes could be the best fight of the weekend

On Saturday night, Lewis Wood, 8-2, and Josh Holmes, 15-0 (5 KOs), will fight for the English super featherweight title. The 130lb fight will be overshadowed by a couple of other big events taking place in various places around the world but, in terms of action, it could well be the best fight of the weekend.

Never heard of either guy but i would watch if I knew which platform the stream is on.
These regional English title fights are fun because the Brit fans do get behind their fighters.
Watching the lower and mid-level British fights are a window into an alternate universe like a simulation of what American boxing should be - much more popular with fan interest cultivated and maintained, somehow. I guess all they have over there is footie to compete with, no NFL, MLB, and NBA.

' if you knew where to watch it ".........

yea if the powers that exist in Boxing that is boxing with a big ' B ' would learn to work on how to make the fight game accessable to the masses of sport fan it could have a chance to grow boxing to a level it used to be at. Boxing has always been an attraction but the trick it to make it easily available to sport fans and not to insult the fan along that way.............

I never know when a fight is going to break out in the ring be it in U. K. or U S A or somewhere in between that is the attraction to boxing not who said what or happened to do something ******......

Well I've never heard of either of them before and I'm English - but I've always gravitated to who are the best which means paying more attention to what is going on at world level.
But there is a lot of interest in the UK in local boxing - honestly I think it's because the UK has many many dreary, down and out places and crime is through the roof (supplying drugs to inmates of prisons is a ? Billion business) (the prisons are so full they are letting hardened criminals out early) and so people who 'can look after themselves', or excel in violence have an appreciative audience among many of the working class.
