Comments Thread For: Fabio Wardley on new ground, shoulder to shoulder with contenders

Fabio Wardley had been a growing presence on the U.K. domestic scene, but the right hand that did so much damage to Frazer Clarke has since made Wardley an international figure.

    Fringe-level is right.

Big up Posh Fabio, absolutely love the geezer but at world level he's getting tucked in.

Outside of horrendous propositions such as for example Helenius or Chisora, the only fight with a (so-called) name I can think of that he might convincingly win is Hughie Fury.

Actually, the 2024 Chisora's only a hideous proposition because of age & damage sustained... I literally think Wardley struggles with him.

What with the World title being held up through Usyk, Fury & Dubois. Wardley best off defending what he's got, while looking to add the European (EBU) belt. At 29 time is surely on his side. I'm sure a fight with Chisora would pay well & put another notch on the Lonsdale belt for the winner. Joseph Parker & Justis Huni are other options in defence of his Commonwealth title!!....

I always find it amusing hearing his middle class accent

Good performance and win for Fabio Wardley, but? I did not rate Clarke vs Wardley I, that highly skill for skill and in terms of the action produced. And really if we want to rate Fabio Wardley as a fighter overall, the best action to evaluate his abilities thus far in his career was shown in that fight.

Clarke vs Wadley I, the fight may have been a great fight in terms of passion, and the effort displayed by the fighters. But skill or skill the action was greatly overrated, Clarke and Wardley both lost the fight due to conditioning. The fight was there to be won in the latter rounds, but neither fighter had the endurance levels to go through the gears and really produce any Championship winning rounds, or a Championship winning effort in my opinion. That was why the decision to score the fight a draw, was really a very astute decision'.

In comparison when Derek Chisora vs Joe Joyce I, was announced many people within the boxing community were complaining over this fight being made. Certain folk in the sport were attempting to make out, that the actual match up was not a positive event for the sport.

Note: When Joe Joyce vs Derek Chisora was announced 'Many of these classic generic UK Domestic boxing fans were complaining that the fight should not happen. They where claiming that both Joyce and Chisora, were going to create some sort of boxing spectacle that was detrimental for the sport'.

Joe Joyce vs Derek Chisora fought on July 27th 2024, to the contrary. Their fight was a superior level fight to Frazier Clarke vs Fabio Wardley I 'Both in terms of the competitive passion between the fighters, and skill for skill the action'.

Here are some statistics below of the two fights:

Frazier Clarke threw a total of 476 punches and landed a total of 151 punches. Fabio Wardley threw a total of 459 punches, and landed a total of 157 punches. Over the duration of a 12 round fight.

Joe Joyce threw a total of 835 punches and landed a total of 211 punches. Derek Chisora threw a total of 564 punches, and landed a total of 192 punches. Over the duration of a 10 round fight

To conclude: In reality, neither Frazier Clarke or Fabio Wardley have shown a ability in the Amateur or Professional Ranks 'That suggest they are greater Heavyweight fighters than Audley Harrison or Danny Williams, I have stated in my previous posts, that Danny Williams, Michael Sprott, Audley Harrison, Mark Potter, Matt Skelton, Julius Francis that era of Heavyweight fighters were all better than Frazier Clarke and Fabio Wardley'.

I think both Frazier Clarke and Fabio Wardley, are in and around skill for skill the level of fighters from that era in British Heavyweight boxing. In fact if they where competing in that boxing era, I think they would struggle to win the Lonsdale British Title. And that is no disrespect, because in terms of the depth of domestic level boxing? That era of Heavyweights fighters were very competitive, there were no fighters really miles ahead in terms of ability, and they could all potentially push each other really close.

Definitively for sure, I would back both Danny Williams and Audley Harrison at their peak or just after to beat Clarke and Wardley by stoppage 'Those two fighters by quite a distance skill for skill, in my opinion were better fighters'.

A good fight for Fabio Wardley, would be against Joe Joyce 'Before the outcome of Clarke vs Wardley II, I suggested that the victor of the fight should fight Joe Joyce'. Although Joe Joyce's form may have potentially decreased, from his best performances against Joseph Parker and Daniel Dubois. I still believe that Joe Joyce would be a extremely difficult fight for Fabio Wardley to win, and a true litmus test which would prove whether he has risen above Domestic level boxing and is now moving towards European and World level' etc.

I don't see why he can't fight some top contenders rather than locals or shopworn fighters. Has has concussive power which might even translate to some extent to the world level, who knows. His fighting heart is champ quality, he never stops. Hrgovic, Ajaba, Sanchez, Vianello, etc., would be good choices. He is ranked right around the same as the others I mentioned in the top 6 to 10 area.

Wardley needs to push for the Kabayel fight. He'd probably get it as the saudis are fans of them both and they like to make 50-50 fights. And he'd get the EBU belt if he won.

Otherwise, he needs to take on the winner of the Charr-Pulev fight and snag that secondary WBA belt. That would give him mandatory status once the belts become fragmanted post Usyk-Fury II.

Kabayel relinquished the EBU belt, some Ukrainian Olexander someone has it now.

Wardley v Kayabel is the perfect fight for Turki to make. Unless of course Turki’s lap dog Spencer Brown( Bakole manager and a DK foot soldier) begs Turki for Kaybel to fight Bakole which is ridiculous.

Bakole v Zhang makes much more sense. Turki, there you have 2 firecracker fights. Stop listening to the three stooges, Hearn, Warren, and the latest stooge Spencer Brown.
