Yeah, I think so. They don't care that much anymore. Probably because many promotional companies, albeit small to mid-size, have sprung up that fans no longer focus on one or two platforms alone, thus being able to watch fights almost every week.
To be fair, some fighters genuinely want to be active, but the politics of boxing hampers them from doing so. But most just naturally want to have long vacation never caring about the short life-span of a career like boxing or any contact sport for that matter.
