I like Rivera but I had to fast forward through that fight, Roldan is an awkward fighter and the fight wasn't the most compelling.

Good for Julian Smith. I remembered seeing him fight before (I think in one of his losses) and I expected Ergashev to deal with him fairly easily. Smith is another awkward one but he made it work and he has obvious power.

Ergashev looked flat but he got clipped and dropped with some serious power early even if it wasn't ruled a knockdown. He seemed either hesitant or unable to take advantage of the many openings the free swinging Smith provided him.

Rivera isn't a bad fighter but he's a bit too patient for my liking and doesn't seem to have the killer instinct . After he hurt Roldan , he stayed in second gear. Rivera bores me. Ergashev looked terrible . The Referee dropped the ball on the first knockdown , thankfully it didn't end up costing Smith the fight.

I was never impressed with Ergashev but I remember he would let his hands go a little more in previous fights. The commentators referenced the stabbing of his leg...I wonder if that or the Matias beatdown has affected him, or maybe he was never that good, or maybe Quiet Storm's power dissuaded him from throwing more.
