Comments Thread For: WBO Approve Buatsi Vs Hutchinson As Interim Title Fight After Yarde Deadline Passes

Queensberry moved quickly to capitalise on Willy Hutchinson's impressive victory over Craig Richards on Saturday night. Within 24 hours, Andy Ayling e-mailed the WBO to request that Hutchinson, who sits at number six in the WBO rankings, be considered to fight number one-ranked Joshua Buatsi for their Interim light heavyweight title. Ayling cited that Hutchinson would be "immediately available, ready, willing, and able" to take on Buatsi.

Interesting development, but with the big caveat that Boxxer are suggesting Yarde is out of contract and have requested an extension to negotiate with him personally.

Until this is rejected by the WBO I think this should be a bigger part of the article, a bit misleading otherwise because you'd assume from the title that Buatsi-Hutchinson is definitely the WBO interim fight if both take it.

Could be a good fight as well, Richards looked very poor against Hutchinson, hard to read too much into that despite Hutchinson's good performance, but Willy looks better suited to 175. I'd favour Buatsi nonetheless.

Yarde’s next fight date will be with Warren in court I reckon. I reckon this will drag on for months with how petty Frank can be.

        It’s a shame because Buatsi-Yarde is a great matchup.

Yeah don't like that fight for Hutchinson think he'll get stopped by Buatsi but if he get offers for fights like that you gotta take it. Whoever is advising Anthony Yarde has really derailed him. Had the chance to fight Calum smith and didn't take it. Had a chance to fight bivol in saudi in December and didn't take it. Now he's backed out another pay day fight. So that's 3 financially benefiting fights he's not taken and he'll probably be boxing a journeyman in a 10 rounder somewhere soon for a fraction of the money.

Frank is in a strong position, he’s far less reliant on Yarde than he used to be. Probably has 4-5 bigger UK draws now.

Frank getting in with the Saudi’s first has made him arguably the biggest powerbroker in boxing. It’s some turnaround from the boxnation days in the cardboard studio.

Warren is another one of these Arum, King types who’d survive a nuclear blast.

Frank comebacks are inevitable. He’ll no doubt carry on well into his hundreds after Saturday night! Mugged Eddie right off.

I got nearly every fight wrong tbh. I had Eddie winning 4-1 in the prediction league.

Hutchinson looked very good. I think he's got too much skill for Buatsi, as long as he makes sure his stamina is equally good for twelve rounds.
