I would not be surprised if Teixiera wins the fight. Good stop forward for Zayas.

Patrick Teixiera will, or might give Xander Zayas a hard fight,.
That said Xander Zayas' IQ, speed, power, and youth will be to much for Teixera to contend with.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Zayas does with this step up in competition. He's been inactive for a minute. I suspect that he has had some injury or injuries that his camp has been tight lipped about. Hopefully he is well and ready to go on the night. Being the heir apparent to Trinidad and Cotto is a big deal , especially since Zayas has been clear that's what he wants. He's going to have to earn it though and this is a good first step. I hope that he can do it and become the next Puerto Rican superstar in boxing. He seems like a young man with a good head on his shoulders and good character to go with it. I wish him the best.

That sounds about right pnut901, he was supposed to fight Tiexiera back in March of this year, but the fight fell didn't happen.
He's missed out on two separate dates that he could've fought, besides this past March, he also got sick in Australia for the Kambosos vs Lopez fight.
Nobodies perfect, and we learn from our mistakes, if he's able to get Tiexiera out of the way, Erickson Lubin, Vergil Ortiz, Tim Tszyu, should follow.
Then the big Boys Madrimov, and Crawford in the last quarter of 2025, and then it's on to the middleweight division in 2026, and super middleweight in 2027 or 2028.
If all goes well without any losses along the way, we will have a bonafide superstar the likes of Felix Trinidad, and Miguel Cotto.

So let me get this straight….. Madrimov is in the big boys category, and Vergil and Tszyu aren’t?! Not only that, he’s (Zayas) gonna have 5 fights against elite competition and STILL fight Crawford in 2025?!?! That’s ambitious. Zayas would be the best fighter in boxing if HALF of that happens. I like Zayas. A lot! But none of that is happening.

It's what I'd like to see happen, Zayas getting past Tiexiera, his next fights should be against Lubin, Ortiz, Ramos, and Tszyu.
I don't know if you've ever seen Madrimov fight, but he is tough as nail's. we will find out just how tough during his fight against Crawford.
If Zayas can defeat 3 of the 4 fighters I mentioned he should fight in the future, he should be ready to fight Madrimov, and or Crawford.
It is a herculean task, but one that isn't impossible, and with each progressive win he sharpens his his skills to a razors edge.
There was so much hoopla when he turned pro that he was the next great superstar, well it's great ambition, and execution that will take him there.
