Comments Thread For: Hearn on Ngannou's Boxing Debut: Maybe Fury is a Shot Fighter, We'll Find Out on February 17

Eddie Hearn, promoter for former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, is not completely sure if Tyson Fury is now past his best. In last fight, back in October, Fury struggled to win a razor-close ten round split decision over MMA veteran Francis Ngannou, who was making his professional debut in boxing.

Hearn has bigger problems to worry about than whether Fury is shot, like is AJ back or was he never truly there and what's gonna happen when Ngannou lands a power shot to that fragile jaw of his ?

I guess we're gonna find out.

Fury has never had a good chin, he just has insane powers of recovery... he gets dropped and seemingly shakes it off moments laters unlike your boy, AJ who stays hit for multiple rounds...

Fury has been dropped by Cunningham & Pajkic who both are not big punchers. His recovery is what his strength is. Joshua should beat him rather easily because he stays in shape. Fury doesn’t stay in shape between fights. He has that 80s HW in between fight training regime. Beers & *******. He is 35 & it will eventually catch up to him. He’s a hard living 35 year old. Joshua beats Ngganou & I am 50/50 on Fury/Usyk. A year ago i was 80-20 for Fury…

3 fights with Wilder will take a lot out of anyone. But I don’t believe Fury is shot. I think he didn’t take his last fight seriously. We’ll know what he has left after the Usyk fight.

            1. Anything Hearn says is not news
            2. Why do we think that being dropped means you don't have a great chin? You lose a point! Gain the points back and you still win. Not recovering should mean your chin is not granite.
            3. Being fat between fights may OR may not mess up your fights. It only will get more challenging and more risky for Fury as he ages!

Fury's chin is fine. He's just clumsy and gets his feet in a muddle. The myth is that he 'moves like a middleweight'; he really doesn't.

We don't know if Fury is shot. We don't know if he was ever not shot after his comeback. Usyk will show us.

I suspect Fury isn't the fighter he was in the Wilder 2 fight and hasn't been for some time. That's just not been tested due to the opponents he's faced.

I won't be surprised one bit if fury vs usyk doesn't happen, I haven't come across much advertising for it and barely any headlines on boxingscene , the only reason he is unbeaten is he barely gets in the ring with a top 3 fighter , what is it 3 top 10 fighters he faught way over the hill, I will be shocked if this fight happens and even more shocked if fury can even be any bit competitive in it, if he does manage to even be a bit competitive I will be impressed and if he does win he can be talked about being a top fighter

I wouldn't be surprised if AJ v Ngannou didn't happen more than Fury Usyk.

I can only imagine how much it'll take from A-Sides reserves such that he won't be able to get it up for the trash belt fights.

I've been thinking this. Warren talks about it when asked but seems to avoid mentioning the date. He's certainly not shouting about it in the way you would expect him to.

Feels a bit weird, but we do know both men are in camp.
