Comments Thread For: Callum Walsh Gets Off Canvas In 10th Round, Wins Dog Fight With Ismael Villarreal On Points

Callum Walsh showed that he could fight through some serious adversity and win a dog fight Thursday night. The strong southpaw from Ireland withstood a real challenge from live, durable underdog Ismael Villarreal and defeated the hometown boxer by unanimous decision in an entertaining main event of a seven-bout card at a sold-out Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Solid card, sadly streaming on UFC fight pass at 7pm CT. I don’t know many boxing fans with a subscription to it lol, but worth a stream imo. Walsh has looked pretty good the times I’ve seen him and there’s some other solid prospects/matchups.

    8-0 Callum Walsh vs 13-1 Ismael Villarreal @ 154

    10-0 Cain Sandoval vs 17-1-1 Wesley Ferrer @ 140

    7-0 Umar Dzambekov vs 13-2 Frederic Julan @ 175

    15-1 Brian Ceballo vs 13-4 Kenneth McNeil @ 154

16-0 Gor Yeritsyan vs 20-7 Luis Alberto Vernon @ 147

    14-0 Feargal McCrory vs 9-6-1 Nikolai Buzolin @ 130

13-0-1 Omar Cande Trinidad vs 5-7 Andrew Bentley @ 126

Fight waved off after two Kd’s in the 1st round.

14-0-1 , probably time to step up the comp for Trinidad…

Side note, looks like they got a pretty good crowd tonight

Sounds like he’s already got a fight scheduled for Jan 27th vs Jose Perez.

Ceballo-McNeil making their way to the ring now

McNeil down & stays on a knee for the 10 count.

3rd round TKO for Ceballo. Use to think he may have a future @ 147. He’s just not that good & likely going no where at 154, but maybe he could fight tonight main event winner
