It was short notice for both fighters. Both had already been through full training camps.

This is not like Fury trying to catch out is opponents and offering them random fight offers at short notice I.E Usyk back earlier on this year.

But nevertheless, I think Helenius fought very well etc.

He had fought six days prior You can't say it was the same for both guys because Whyte pissed hot.

Helenius has been out of shape since his fight w Chisora. He has never been able to go 10 rounds without gassing completely. It's not the length of the camp as you build the cardio over years and years. He just doesn't train hard enough. This last fight was very slow in pace and still he gassed.

Was it a 12 round brutal fight? No.

It was a easy win for Helenius, pretty much like a sparring match.

Helenius basically got some Top level sparring 6 days before fighting Joshua.

Helenius was clearly in good condition physically, and he fought very well vs Joshua.

The fight is done now anyway mate, and Joshua got the knock-out. It is done etc

Did he got short notice for Wilder fight? As I remeber result was KO in 1st round. So.....he did better with Joshua in short notice ....
Am i right or am i right?

Get in there and have a go at least. Ruiz was coming off a weeks notice and had Joshua doing the 2-step.

It doesn't matter, he had a pro fight six days prior. Not sure how you can say he was clearly in good condition when he clearly gassed by the fourth round.

Agreed, Joshua got the knock out. He got his two tuneups and looked awful in both. Wilder fight next?

You could pad your retirement without a second full camp and get in there with a vulnerable cash cow. If he did land a big shot and KO Joshua, he'd only have another huge payday waiting in the wings. So, huge upside, little downside. He got KO'd, and if he wasn't sure if he loved boxing anymore guess what - if he's smart, he never needs to lace them up again. For a prizefighter, pretty good decision.

Though, I'd agree with the first poster - you train for every fight like it's a huge fight. Not sure it would've made a difference, but we'll never know. I hope he retires on this.

Obviously Ruiz trained his chin and Robert forgot to train his. Ruiz was countering better landed punches than the one that ended the night for Helenius.

Ruiz walked through fire, Helenius fainted in the heat.
