So he lost all that weight and still did not address his horrible defense. I think he is done

Yes the old line of never turning down a title shot is neve truer in this case. I do think Haymon said to his team that he had a title shot reserved against Wilder if he kept on winning but Wilder was destroyed by Fury and he was flattened by Helenius and that was that.

o, Kownacki needs to retire. He will get badly hurt if he goes on. What really struck me when he fought Helenius was that he is v short for a H/W. he must've spent his whole career fighting guys with height & reach advantage yet, he can't slip a jab, he has no head movement, no upper body movement, no head, arm or shoulder feints. WTF did he ever work on in training camp, cos it wasn't basic boxing skills.

No surprises here. Helenius took his soul.

It's crazy to think how well Kownacki did until that, he has poor defence, no punch power and no speed. He just took punches to the face and threw his own and came out on top.
He was definitely an over achiever bcs he has always had poor skills and no size either. Once he fought a guy who hits hard he was beaten senseless bcs he is so easy to hit. He looked better early on in his career before he became so blubbery and he sounds like his brain is already scrambled. Classic example of why defence is so important. Not just for boxing success but health.
