Fury v Ortiz is just as bad, as fury v chisora!!!! It's probably worse from a ticket sales point of view.
nobody in the UK really rates Ortiz just like the USA don't really rate chisora, there both just big named journey men!!

After back to back with Wilder and a legit fight against Whyte, I can look the other way on a complete gimme for Fury. Not a problem for me. It is how we got here...

Fury announces he is done with boxing. Then, he said of Usyk that he could beat him and Joshua the same night. Then, called out Usyk as a fraud when Usyk wanted him next but not on Fury "imposed" deadline of later this year, wanting time to heal and be 100% ready for Fury. So Fury was announcing he was retired again. But wait, just kidding? Of course he was!! He wanted Joshua again, offering him a 60/40 split just to make it happen. The nation wanted Fury-Joshua, he would give it. But WAIT!! Joshua took too long, and Chisora was a chance for a "historic" 2nd trilogy that EVERYONE really wanted him to have....

      Have I missed anything?

Want Chisora when Usyk said he wanted to wait to fight next year, than fine. Go get him. You are fine. Why all the other drama?

You missed the 'beef' with Chisora that he generated while supposedly wanting other fights.

I think they ended up ditching that storyline as it wasn't believable enough and just went with the "well we tried to get Joshua" line of defence.

As you say, nothing wrong with an easy touch. But not one this uninteresting and with such a transparently fake build up.

You didn't miss anything. You just perfectly explained the situation.

Seriously, I'm starting to believe they wanted to give Chisora a huge payday as a final goodbye.
Correct. Thrice did not happen and I am with you re the goodbye-handshake payday. Credit though to Chisora for his last win and on the fortuitous timing allowing Fury to get away with it.

Chisora has a better resume than Ortiz and younger. So no need to shake head
