I'd say the main gist of the article is that Marquez did not once have Mayweather in any kind of trouble despite Marquez's confidence in calling out Floyd.

Most expected Marquez to, at least, put up a much better effort in going after the P4P king -- Especially with Floyd being away for almost 2 years.

Without dipping my toe into the message boards and other fan forums since the final bell of his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez Saturday night/Sunday morning, I can pretty much assume that as a prevailing sentiment.

        But you know what?

He's a real-life Satan incarnate who can, ahem... fight like hell.

In pitching an absolute, complete and comprehensive shutout of Marquez – the critics' pre-comeback choice as the world's No. 2 fighter – in his first ring action since 2007, the Pretty Boy now known as "Money" has answered one question with dominant certainty.

He, and not Manny Pacquiao or any other 21-month stand-in, is the world's best fighter.

        Don't believe it?

Watch the tape. Or re-watch it, as the case may be.

And over the course of 36 minutes, find me one thing that says otherwise.

        One flaw. One error.

One ***** in the armor that truly indicates – regardless of the fact different styles make different fights – Pacquiao will do any better when he gets his chance next year.

But before you do, though, I'll save you all a little time.

        Don't bother.

        It doesn't exist.

Nowhere in a stretch of 12 rounds did Marquez do one specific thing or take one specific tack that caused the unflappable 32-year-old even a moment's worth of consternation. [details]
He pitched a shut out and Pac had close fights with Marquez so Floyd is the greatest fighter in the world..idiotic. Pac doesnt fight like Floyd he actually fights and as a result gets hit and as a result we know he has the intangeables which we havent got a clue that Floyd posesses..does he have heart? Not sure..Chin? Maybe. Does he wow the crowd like Roy Jones Jr did. Nope. Is Floyd the #1 WW? Who knows. Fight a few top legitimate prime WWs and maybe we can find out.

          The writter is a moron.
He isn't alone in that view.

Brian Kenny, Kevin Iole, Newsday, etc are all saying that Mayweather is back, and is number one.

Think of it like this: Mayweather is Jordan and the bulls, Pacquiao is Olajuwon and the Rockets.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. takes pound-for-pound crown from Manny Pacquiao

Monday September 21, 2009 2:25 PM By Bobby Cassidy

Was it a fair fight? Maybe not. But it was a sanctioned fight nonetheless and Floyd Mayweather Jr. completely dominated Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday night.

We've said all along that Marquez was a very calculated pick by Mayweather. He was older and smaller than Floyd. But the manner in which Floyd so thoroughly defeated Marquez has to make one wonder about Manny Pacquiao as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Pacquiao, who fights Miguel Cotto in November, twice went life-and-death with Marquez. They fought to a draw and then Pac Man won a split decision. Many people feel that Marquez actually won the rematch.

Pacquiao, a great fighter himself, and so much more exciting than Floyd, took over the mythical title of best fighter, pound-for-pound, during Mayweather's absence. Well now Floyd's back, and the title, mythical or not, belongs to Mayweather.

People really should just start calling Floyd 'The Devil' from now on, considering how bad he makes people catch-feelings.

I'm in love with Floyd Mayweather Jr.-By Lyle Fitzsimmons

Of course its an Fitzsimmons article, what a nuthugger. I mean the truth is that Money did look good in the fight, but he had so many advantages in this fight that I can not say he was great. This fight was joke from the beginnin and everybody knows that and this is what people were sayin that was gonna happen against a handicapped little man. Come on Fitzsimmons you cant still say with a serious face that this was the biggest fight of the year, when on Nov 14 gonna be Pac vs Cotto in more even and action packed fight.
I think you are a Joke Fizsimmons

It was proven otherwise on Saturday night.

                      Soooo, let's review:

Pac KO's Hatton in 2 rounds: "lol omg pwned. Pac KO'd Hatton faster than gayweather lolz omg pwned. Pacquiao outdid Floyd."

Mayweather dismantles Marquez : " well, any knowledgeable boxing fan knows that styles make fights. It is inappropriate to compare common opponents. That really isn't indicative of anything".

                      Um, OK
