There are champions, winners, and then there are hero's.
Now I am not a hardcore Tyson Fury fan. And I don't think he has been a great heavyweight Champion.
But I have just been watching the post fight press conference.
Tyson Fury is for what he as been through and overcome, one of the few hero's in the game.
Understand what I am trying to say, you have winners or athletes who are good at their craft.
And people try and project onto them, and build them up as hero's. But are they hero's?
Tyson Fury I understand, he is a hero to his fans. I understand now.
Yes some people want him to carry on, and fight for the undisputed titles. But if he has achieved everything he ever wanted in the game.
Then I don't think he should fight on, Fury should only fight on if he has the passion.
If Tyson Fury carries on, he is only proving himself to the fans 'And their wants'. Yes that kind of requirement is what comes along with being Heavyweight Champion.
Champions have obligations, and a duty. I just don't think Fury wants to prove anything anymore to the fans, because he has proven everything he has ever wanted to himself.
I can remember when people used to mock Fury, I can remember when people would discriminate against his background. I can remember when he was stereotyped as some sort of clown, I can remember it all. Maybe it is these people that want Tyson Fury to carry on, but I don't think Fury has anything to prove anymore.
So if this is Tyson Fury's last fight, I must commend him on a great career, and a great comeback.
The reason why I have wrote this is because, I am sensing that Fury is 100% genuine that he will retire now.

It is an entirely different animal to be in the ring, but we still can look at this critically. Whyte simply never made any positive adjustments and right now Fury is an absolutely brilliant boxer on many levels. Whyte either had a horrible game plan or a horrible execution of his game plan because he really did get whipped.

Being undefeated goes a long way into overstating a fighter's ranking among the greats. Mayweather Jr is undefeated, but he's not the greatest boxer across all eras. He would have probably lost against an in his prime Sugar Ray Leonard. Fury would definitely have losses if he fought in eras where boxing talent was more prevalent.Last edited by Lefty0616; 04-23-2022, 07:01 PM.
