Comments Thread For: Kambosos On Getting Knocked Down: I Wasn't Hurt; Went Out And Won The Last Two Rounds, No Problem

George Kambosos Jr. accomplished nearly everything he vowed to do in the biggest fight of his career to date. Having to overcome a knockdown wasn't necessarily part of the plan in his upset win over lineal/WBA/IBF/WBO lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez Jr (16-1, 12KOs). Both boxers hit the deck in their sensational twelve-round contest Saturday evening at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater in New York City. Kambosos (20-0, 10KOs) late in the opening round, only to suffer a knockdown of his own midway through round ten.

Damn skippy. 13-1 underdog, carried himself like a Champion. Very inspiring. Busted him up. Now they gotta go see the “Emperor” down under.

Standard, it doesn't mean anything sinister.

It’s pretty standard after every fight. Once they get cleared by doctors (hospital observations), the suspension is lifted immediately.

… and yet he ended up the winner of the fight. After 9 rounds of war, anyone who got dropped would be hurt. The same would have been the case had it been Teo getting dropped.

I don't believe they are lifted immediately. Pretty sure you have to wait it out so people (mostly journeymen) can't fight too often. Of course many people get around this by fighting in another state with a different commission.
