Comments Thread For: Whyte Return Eyed For Late August, Early September: Arreola a Possible Opponent

Dillian Whyte's return to the ring has been pushed back from July, although Chris Arreola remains a possible next opponent, according to Eddie Hearn. Whyte and Hearn met before the weekend to discuss his next fight after he regained the interim WBC heavyweight title with a stoppage over Alexander Povetkin in Gibraltar. Originally, Whyte had been keen on a July fight in the United States but has decided he wants more of a break after a lengthy training camp ahead of the Povetkin rematch.

Hasn't Hearn learned anything from AJ v Ruiz rematch shenanigans with PBC?!
If Arreola wins this, PBC will run away with that interim title and WBC will be doing everything to help them - deeming Arreola mando on the same night and giving champ only 1 week to reach an agreement for mando defense.

If Whyte fights Arreolla, he might get hurt. Arreolla can crack and take punches well.

It would be nice to see him get slept again.

Ruiz took Chris as an easy 'come back fight' after ballooning to a dangerously obese weight. Chris showed that even a fitter looking Ruiz is hardly a world beater, only a Joshua beater as his style when semi fit hurts Joshua as proven .It's hardly surprising that Whyte who was sparked recently by an old guy would want to jump on the band waggon with another old forty year old fighter with seven loses who again just lost a clear unanimous decision . With match making like this and no doubt destined to be another one of Hearns long list of shyte PPv's it's no wonder boxing gets so much flak. They can do much better than this but as boxing politics go Hearn just wants another easy fight for Whyte so he has more pawns to play with for his little in house fights. And Whyte is ridiculously asking Hearn for 'an easier fight next time' which clearly shows his level!

All facts. But posters like that idiot Sid-Knee will swear up and down, a win over Arreola solidifies Whytes status as a world-class fighter.

It's a useless fight, why isn't he fighting the winner of that fight Ruiz?

At others have pointed out, he has a suspect chin and it could end badly. He needs to push for a strap ASAP, but given the situation that could take a while.... 2023??? He needs to fight in the meantime, but I'm not sure Areola is the right man for him

Whyte should stop fighting the over 40s and take on someone else like Charles Martin. Andy Ruiz would be a great fight but Ruiz doesn’t want it. What about the guy who’s looking for an opponent for the IBF eliminator which Michael Hunter ran from?
