Arreola did better than AJ against ruiz.

Shows how poor the top 10 of division is. Especially AJ.

      Burrito eater solidarity.

In the first AJ-Ruiz fight, Ruiz got lucky and caught AJ after AJ wildly tried to finish him. Still, it took Ruiz an additional 4 rounds to stop him after AJ was on auto pilot.

He got lucky 4 times. There was 4 knock downs.

Ruiz didn't stop AJ, AJ quit as he was getting beaten up so bad by a fat kid.

Getting up from a knockdown and taking the best the other fighter has is not lucky. AJ got tired and could not put together anything to stop Ruiz. Auto pilot? He looked fine in round six but again got tired while the chubby Ruiz was still coming on fueled by snickers.

            Not really.

Let's be honest here, as bad as AJ looked in that first fight, it was actually up to AJ to lose that fight. All he needs to do in a trilogy is make better decisions on when to exchange with Ruiz, don't get carried away. And box. Ruiz took advantage of being overlooked just like Arreola took advantage of being overlooked.

AJ now knows what to do and what not to do vs Ruiz, and to take him seriously, so what happened in the first fight has less of a chance of happening in future fights vs Ruiz. Overlooking an opponent in boxing is very common. It's the biggest reason for upsets. Ruiz overlooked Arreola for example. Ruiz also overlooked AJ in the rematch. Didn't care, thought he would steamroll AJ even while coming in as a whale. He had no answer for AJ's movement.
