    Is Fury's win over Wilder 2 the most overrated win in recent years?

    Before anyone says anything, I do not rate Wilder or prefer american boxers or none of that. And I don't get into country wars.

    But, holy **** is Fury's TKO over Wilder the most overrated win since forever. Like it's not even a great win.

    Most of us thought Wilder was a hypejob even before he faced Fury. He fought Fury prior and got schooled almost every round except for the 2 rounds he scored a knockdown. He got gifted with a draw ffs. Are we really surprised that Fury, who won the first time, would end up winning the second time?

    Wilder was never that good. Is he a top 5 heavy right now? Probably, but if you look at his wins they are 99.9% garbage. His best win is probably an old Ortiz. He was ****ted on pretty much every forum, rightfully so. But since Fury beat him, Wilder all of a sudden becomes the hardest-hitting heavyweight boogeyman to ever exist in boxing? **** no.

    Any great heavyweight in history would've beaten Wilder that night, and if we're being honest, Fury didn't even look that great. He was fighting dirty and got caught with some shots that he shouldn't have been hit with.

    I cannot think of any other win that has been more meaningless than this one. Any thoughts?

    Whilst I also don't rate Wilder, I think it's ****** to call it a meaningless or unimpressive win.

    Say what you want about Wilder he was WBC champ and he did have 10 defences, were this defences against bums? Yes, but the point remains.

    Fury's win over klitschko is far and away the best win of his career to date, but beating Wilder was a very good win under the circumstances, and it was very satisfying from the point of view of a real boxing fan.

      Well going off of how trash people say Wilder is, Yes. The funny thing it took this "Master" boxer, 18/19 rounds, getting knocked down and getting hurt multiple times, to beat one of the worst boxers the HW division has ever seen reach to holding a belt.

      The whole HW division currently is trash, Fury included.

        Mm nope, that's revisionist history. Nobody ever claimed Wilder was a technical genius. But his record before was good, and his power is absolutely scary.

        Fury was a bettering underdog Featherfisted underdog dominated a KO machine, knocking him down twice before having the fight brutally waved off.

          Undefeated. 10 title defences. Top 1 or 2 heavyweight. Fury came in as the underdog. Dominated him every minute of every round and finished him.

          How much better of a win were you expecting?

            It's easy to revise history, Wilder was feared, was widely regarded as the baddest man on the planet and one of the hardest punchers of all time, if not the hardest.

            Wilder was the favourite in both fights, and most people on here predicted him to KO Fury in both fights.

              Before that rematch Fury was talking about a KO and said he’d come straight forward which seemed the most ****** strategy ever. Play into Wilder’s strengths? Nobody had done that (for good reason). Well Fury did and KO’d/mugged Wilder easily, additionally mentally destroying him. This was one of the best rematches I’ve seen in years.

                I think it's a great win. Wilder is a one trick pony but that one trick is fight ending and he throws it with very fast hands. He was able to back Wilder up which meant alot of the time Wilder wasn't comfortable or set to throw his big right but Fury still had to put himself in the firing line to back him up.

                Its overrated by those who think that beating Wilder it proves he can beat anybody. That win didn't prove that, it just meant he can beat Wilder (which is worth alot of praise) but the next guy in line is a totally different matter.

                But it is underrated by those that just class Wilder as an outright useless bum who was going to be crushed the moment he fought an elite fighter. Like I said, Wilder is a 1 trick Pony but that 1 trick alone is such a good trick he is far from a bum.

                Literally every high ranked fighter is over or under rated by somebody.

                  While I agree that people were going overboard over-rating Wilder's power, Fury put on a terrifically brutal display of a boxing clinic in the rematch. That was a great win no matter how people try to re-imagine it.

                    no he wasn't...Wilder was dragged for ducking Klit/Joshua and nobody but delusional Wilder stans thought he was possibly the hardest puncher of all time. We all said that once Wilder fights a top 5 heavy he would get exposed, and that was it...
