My thoughts on the Roy Jones Jr. vs. Jeff Lacy fight

I know I'm late with this thread but I just wanted to touch on a few things. The fight went exactly how I thought it would. I knew Jeff would not win a round of this fight. Roy was all wrong for him and that's why I refused to work his corner for the fight. It really was a moral dilemma for me because I've become friends with Jeff over the years and didn't want to say no to him but I couldn't work his corner and watch him take a beating first hand. Now I think I should have worked in his corner so I could have thrown in the towel a bit sooner. When I saw him at the airport the next morning he was totally out of it. He was looking frantically for his one of his bags that ended up being right with his cut man, where he left it. He couldn't find his tickets and he could not remember which airline he was supposed to be flying on. It was really tough for me to see that.

Needless to say, I wasn't in the greatest of moods. To top it off, after seeing Jeff like that, I hopped on the plane and this kid was sitting in my seat. I told him

"hey, I think you're sitting in my seat" and he said

"oh yeah, I am. I just like sitting in the aisle seat, mind if we switch? I obliged and didn't think much of it. Big mistake. I ended up getting trapped at the window seat while this kid literally blabbed my ****ing ear off for over an hour. Non stop blabbing about how great Roy looked the night before. When I wasn't so quick with my responses, he moved on to every other frickin fighter he could think of asking me 100 questions about this and that. He brought up Winky Wright and I thought he was playing me. I told him that I train Winky (another big mistake) and he started talking like I was his favorite trainer even though he had been yapping my ear off for a half hour and didn't recognize his supposed "favorite trainer." Then the kid starts going off about Paul Williams like he was Roy's son and the second coming of Jesus Christ. All I wanted to do was sleep on the flight but ended up trapped in a window seat next to this rabid Roy Jones and Paul Williams fanboy from Pennsylvania and had to humor him for the duration of the flight. Not to mention that we had to sit on the ****ing runway for 25 minutes because the weather was ****ty.
