Cotto and Castillo are not the same fighter...

Cotto is slow as hell on his feet...Castillo at 135 gave Floyd problems because he could cut the ring off and had the footspeed to catch Floyd when Floyd tried to move outta harm's way...

And the Cotto we've seen of late seems to be passive in the later rounds or he may have stamina issues...Cotto will get tired and frustrated trying to apply pressure on Mayweather for 12 rounds...

Clottey gave Cotto a very competitive fight and just like Floyd he picks his shots...Clottey stood in front of Miguel and nearly beat him...the cut was there but I think it wudda been close regardless...Clottey never lets his hands go enuff to win

Cotto hasn't fought anyone who isn't a stationery target. Malignaggi tried to fight him and got brutalized but did lose a close decision...Shane lost a close fight but went toe-to-toe with Cotto

All being said I like Cotto(rooted for him against Clottey when I was there) but I don't think he has enough to beat Floyd...and I think the Margarito fight took something out of him...

And finally Castillo didn't get robbed in the first fight...if you think he won ok...but there was no ROBBERY...

      Castillo is undoubtedly shot.

Cotto might be past his prime. We can't be sure for know because he fought a top guy last time out not some bum.

Shane didn't reallt go toe to toe for the whole fight.Mid rounds he boxed and still kinda lost IMO.
But Cotto makes most a stationary target by body punching and by his style.

      But what is the point?

Well obviously Castillo's shot now...how is Cotto past his prime? At 28 years old? 35 fights?

Shane for the most part went toe-to-toe and that's how he mainly fights...he's not a boxer and mover...

Becasue people were talking in that one thread like Cotto could do exactly what JLC did in the first fight with Floyd. I think he was talking about prime for prime or atleast was talking about when JLC fought Floyd not JLC right now.

I think the point is that they are different fighters, which should be pretty clear and what happeaned in the first JLC fight would not be replicated by Cotto.

                  you are right.

                  Cotto is way better.

besides his chin Castillo doesnt ahve anything on Cotto.

Everything Castillo did good Cottos does better, Plus Cotto have 10 times teh boxing skills Castillo had!!!!!!!!

yes.when cotto was at his best he was very similar.now this isn't an indication necessarily that he would beat floyd, today but stylistically, they are/where similar.castillo was better in-fighter than cotto is though.
